An XDA Developers forum member discovered an exploit on Dec 16, 2012 that obtains root privileges and enables malicious application installation on the many Samsung devices that contain Exynos 4210 and 4412 processors. There are plenty of handsets that could easily fall victim to malicious apps, including Samsung Galaxy S II, Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 etc.
Before Samsung provides an official update, impacted Samsung device owners are highly recommended to use this utility to protect their devices. As a side effect, the camera will NOT be functional after you patch Exynos exploit. If you wish to use the camera again, please uninstall this app and launch camera after you reboot the device.
This app does not require root privilege to execute and your device will not be rooted after using this app.
