Assistant Professor in Accounting - HigherEdJobs

Major/Essential Duties of Job:
Position teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in Accounting beginning Fall 2013. Candidates are expected to provide instruction in tax, financial, forensics, or managerial accounting, but candidates with other areas of expertise such as personal financial planning, business law for accountants, not-for-profit, or Accounting Information Systems, will be considered. The successful candidate will be required to teach graduate and undergraduate courses and prepare syllabi, course materials, and delivery with instruction in both an online media as well as on premises. Instructional duties also include student advisement and curriculum development. May require teaching on all Texas A & M University campuses (the Commerce campus as well as the Dallas, Rockwall, or international sites and Saturday classes if needed. Demonstrated productivity in scholarship with peer reviewed journal articles and presentations at professional meetings in the general areas of accounting. Perform multi-task activity and work cooperatively with others. Actively engage in community service that specifically benefits the University, College and Department of Accounting. Demonstrate participation and engagement in decision making and policy setting, review, and changes by serving on active committees. Other duties as required.

Required Education and Experience:
Qualifications for tenure-track appointment at the rank of assistant professor include a PhD or DBA from an AACSB or ACBSP accredited university (ABD will be considered if degree completed by start date). Candidates must be committed to effective teaching, professional and scholarly research, and university and community service. The candidate must have completed at least 18 hours of graduate level accounting. Requires ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Education and Experience:
If a candidate holds an active Professional accounting certification such as: (CPA, CMA, CIA, CFP, PFS,CFF,CFA) and/or business experience although not required it would be a plus.
